The Women Environmental Program has launched the ICT Skill Development Program for the first cohort under the WomenPower2030 Project. Meanwhile, the initiative targets empowerment of women and persons with disabilities through digital inclusion.

Training Framework Emphasizes Practical Skill Development

The program provides participants with hands-on learning experiences designed to enhance employability, innovation, and self-reliance. Therefore, targeted training and mentorship enable practical skill acquisition relevant to current technology markets. Moreover, the initiative aligns with WomenPower2030 Project goals focusing on gender equality and economic empowerment. Consequently, capacity building through technology supports sustainable development objectives for underserved populations.

Participants receive structured training addressing digital competencies required for participation in the global digital economy. Meanwhile, the curriculum emphasizes practical applications of ICT skills in employment and entrepreneurship contexts. Additionally, mentorship components provide guidance for career development and technology sector integration. Therefore, the comprehensive approach addresses both technical skills and professional development needs.

Digital Inclusion Strategy Addresses Economic Participation

The program launch demonstrates organizational commitment to bridging the digital divide affecting women and persons with disabilities. Meanwhile, digital inclusion initiatives create pathways for active contribution to technology-driven economic sectors. Moreover, the training model promotes inclusive economic participation through accessible technology education. Therefore, participants gain capabilities for engagement in digital markets and technology-enabled employment opportunities.

The first cohort represents initial implementation of broader digital inclusion objectives under the WomenPower2030 framework. Subsequently, the program model may expand to additional cohorts based on initial outcomes. Consequently, the initiative establishes a foundation for sustained capacity building efforts targeting gender and ability gaps in Africa’s technology sector through practical skills development and mentorship support systems.
