Uganda National Lottery Records 986,000 Winners Since June 2024 Launch
The Uganda National Lottery has generated 986,000 winners in just over one year of operations since its June 1, 2024 launch. Subsequently, ITHUBA Uganda operates the national system, reporting consistent player success rates across multiple gaming formats including traditional draws and digital quick-play options.

Traditional Games Drive Core Revenue While Digital Options Expand
Established lottery games including Lotto and Powerball continue attracting participants through substantial prize offerings and regular draw schedules. Moreover, Daily Lotto has experienced increased participation from players seeking more frequent winning opportunities. Michelle Van Trotsenburg, Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at ITHUBA Uganda, stated that “we are thrilled to celebrate all the lucky winners in August 2025 and the incredible milestone of nearly one million winners since our launch in June 2024. This achievement is not only a testament to the excitement our games bring, but also to the trust Ugandans have placed in the National Lottery.”
Modern quick-draw games including Taano Taano have captured player attention alongside digital gaming options. Additionally, electronic games such as Spin4Cash, Fortune Fruits, and Wheel of Fortune supplement traditional lottery offerings. Therefore, the diversified product portfolio addresses varying player preferences across demographic segments.
Economic Impact Extends Beyond Prize Distribution to Infrastructure Development
The lottery system contributes revenue streams for national projects and infrastructure development initiatives. Furthermore, Van Trotsenburg noted that “every ticket purchased represents more than just the chance to win-it fuels a growing lottery industry that is uplifting communities and changing lives across the country.” Prize structures continue evolving, with climbing Powerball jackpots and multimillion-dollar Lotto rewards maintaining player engagement.
September activity levels indicate sustained growth patterns across all gaming categories. Consequently, regular draw schedules and diversified prize tiers support consistent participation rates. The lottery framework provides structured gaming opportunities while generating revenue for public sector initiatives and community development programs throughout Uganda.
