The Communications Authority of Kenya reports significant growth and renewed competition in the country’s broadband and fixed data market. Meanwhile, Safaricom PLC leads the sector with a 34.3% market share.

Market Competition Intensifies With New Entrants

Poa Internet Kenya Ltd ranks fourth at 12.5%, highlighting strong presence of homegrown internet providers. Therefore, other notable players include Ahadi Wireless at 7.5%, Vilcom Network at 4.1%, and Mawingu Networks at 3.6%. Moreover, Dimension Data Solutions East Africa holds 0.9% while Starlink Internet Services Kenya and Liquid Telecommunications Kenya each command 0.8%.

Smaller ISPs collectively account for 2.3% of the market. Meanwhile, the Communications Authority noted that new internet service provider entries have brought fresh competition and innovation. Consequently, the diversified market structure promotes competitive pricing and service quality improvements across the broadband sector.
