An Emotional Journey to Claiming the Prize
The winner, who purchased the ticket in Port Elizabeth, described the overwhelming excitement after discovering the win. The winner shared with National Lottery Ithuba:
“I have not been able to eat since Saturday, December 28, with excitement.”
After checking the ticket at a retail store and being advised to visit the nearest Ithuba office due to the high amount, the winner carefully safeguarded the ticket.
“I eventually phoned the Ithuba and subsequently visited the Ithuba office where I learned that I was R40 million richer.”
After contacting the Ithuba call center, she confirmed the jackpot win during a visit to their office, where she learned she was R40 million richer.
With the newfound wealth, the winner expressed a heartfelt intention to use the prize to help others.
“When you are blessed, it is your duty to become a blessing to others. That is exactly what I intend to do with my winnings – bless others.”
