ITHUBA Uganda Recruits Boda Boda Riders as National Lottery Sellers
ITHUBA Uganda has launched a Corporate Social Investment program training boda boda motorcycle taxi riders as National Lottery ticket sellers. Meanwhile, the initiative developed with the Boda Boda Association of Uganda enables riders to earn commission-based income.

Digital Platform Enables Micro-Entrepreneurship
The Lottery Xpress platform allows smartphone users to become digital lottery agents through accessible technology. Therefore, riders can register as ticket sellers and generate supplementary income through commission structures. Moreover, Bob Kabenaro, Chairman of ITHUBA Uganda, stated that “at ITHUBA, we believe true empowerment is not about giving handouts — it’s about creating opportunity. This programme gives riders the skills, tools, and support to build sustainable income. It is about transforming potential into progress, and dignity into prosperity.”
Eric Mabuza Jnr., General Manager of ITHUBA Uganda, emphasized that the National Lottery functions as a vehicle for community impact. Subsequently, the company positions participants as entrepreneurial partners rather than passive recipients. Therefore, Lottery Specialist Gys Potgieter noted that the Lottery Xpress platform enables anyone with a smartphone to become a digital lottery agent through simple and accessible technology.
New Lottery Game Targets Mass Market Accessibility
TAANO TAANO features draws every five minutes with entry prices beginning at 100 Ugandan shillings ($0.03). Meanwhile, the game demonstrates ITHUBA’s commitment to delivering entertainment accessible to broad population segments. Additionally, Mabuza stated that Lottery Xpress and TAANO TAANO together expand National Lottery reach while creating opportunities for communities.
The program represents ITHUBA’s approach to social impact through innovation and grassroots empowerment. Therefore, the initiative contributes to national development by transforming transportation workers into micro-entrepreneurs with sustainable income streams. Consequently, ITHUBA Uganda operates under regulation from the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board.
