In the bustling Kawala area of the Kawempe Division, George William Kyakuwa Kibirige, a 57-year-old carpenter, has become one of the latest millionaires in Uganda, thanks to the National Lottery.

Life-Changing Win for a Carpenter from Kawala

Known for his dedication to both his carpentry and seasonal farming, George’s regular participation in the lottery finally paid off in late June. His decision to opt for a quick pick ticket for UGX 12,000 led to a win of UGX 10,095,600 on June 21, 2024.

“I couldn’t believe it at first. I had to call my wife immediately. We prayed together and thanked God for this unexpected blessing,” George recalled, smiling as he remembered the moment he verified his ticket at a local shop.

With his newfound fortune, George plans to repair his family home and invest in his children’s education, highlighting the significant impact the lottery can have on everyday lives.

A Young Man’s Dream Realized in Bweyogerere

Lawrence Matovu, a 27-year-old resident of Kakajjo zone in Bweyogerere, also saw his life dramatically improved by the Uganda National Lottery. On May 22, 2024, Lawrence’s careful selection of numbers for a DAILY LOTTO ticket, purchased for UGX 3,000, won him UGX 5,054,500.

“I couldn’t contain my joy when I validated my ticket at the neighborhood supermarket. I immediately shared the news with the supermarket attendant, who cheered along with me,” Lawrence shared, reflecting on the moment of his win.

Lawrence plans to use his winnings to purchase a piece of land, a dream he never thought possible before his lottery success.
