Tanzania’s Gaming Board Targets 200 Billion Tsh from Sports Betting in 2024/25

The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) aims to collect approximately 200 billion Tanzanian shillings (Tsh) through sports betting in 2024/25. This represents an almost 18 percent increase from the previous year’s target of 170 billion Tsh.

Significant Contributions to GDP

GBT Director General James Mbalwe recently stated, “The sports betting sector has made significant progress and substantially contributed to GDP. The coming of BetWinner is welcomed.”

Mbalwe emphasized the importance of ethical, responsible, and transparent operations among betting companies to promote fair competition in the sector.

BetWinner’s Competitive Edge

BetWinner’s Managing Director Jesse Ndambala highlighted the company’s goal to offer customers better odds than other betting companies.

“Apart from having good odds, we have introduced significant innovations in our games. Our goal is to enhance entertainment and competitive spirit in the sports betting sector”, stated. Ndambala also announced a 100 percent bonus as a welcome offer for customers.

Expanding Beyond Football

The company plans to invest in various sports beyond football, including golf and netball. To compete fairly in the market, BetWinner is prepared to provide top-notch services, including immediate payment to winners. BetWinner currently operates in several African countries, including Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, and Uganda.

The ambitious target set by the Gaming Board of Tanzania underscores the rapid growth and economic impact of the sports betting sector in the country. With the entry of companies like BetWinner, bringing competitive odds and innovative gaming options, the sector is poised for further expansion.
